LEARN TO UNDERSTAND CONTEMPORARY ART
AND START YOUR OWN COLLECTION

Contemporary art can seem unmanageable to many - both when it comes to the experience of it, but also having to invest.

Where to start? How do you tell who's great or not? and what is your taste?

Sigg-art offers courses and teaching courses in i.a. contemporary art and art investment. These courses can give you an insight into what you need to be aware of, how to get started and what to look for. I would like to come out to you and give lectures or hold a teaching course.

It is also possible to book an intimate course evening in Sigg-art’s own premises in Nørrebro (Max 10 participants, minimum 6). If you are in a larger assembly, Sigg-art is also happy to book a suitable meeting room for the event.

Intimate courses include coffee, tea, snacks and a glass of wine per. participant. For outhouse courses, this can be arranged but must be noted in the e-mail when the course is booked.

YOUNG COLLECTORS NIGHT

Do you want to learn to invest in art? Sigg-art offers a course evening specifically aimed at young art investors.

Through this course you will be introduced to all the knowledge you need before starting your own art collection. The market for contemporary art may seem a bit like the Wild West, but it is also fun and can actually be easy and clear if you only know what to keep an eye on. I meet you right where you are and you do not have to stand ready with the staggeringly high amounts to be able to start your own collection. The course can be booked in Sigg-art's own Nørrebro premises for a minimum of 6 participants. The course is particularly suitable as a supplement to the Friday bar or creative kick-in for your association or staff evening.

The course itself takes approx. 60 minutes and has 20 minutes set aside for subsequent questions. In intimate courses, it is allowed afterwards to linger for an hour just for the sake of coziness.

ART INVESTMENT FOR BEGINNERS

In the news papers you have recently been able to read about how sales of special jewelery, precious art and rare antiques have gone up. Many people defy the Corona crisis and shop big in the country's art and auction houses and why is that?

With the prospect of an increasingly unstable stock market and the fact that it is now becoming even more unfavorable to leave one's money in the bank, it is clear that it is an attractive alternative to also invest money in value-based quality that investors can benefit from and be proud of. This beginner's course gives you the basic tools you need to start as an art collector in the whimsical world of contemporary art and leaves you with a good overview and a deep insight.

The course itself takes approx. 60 minutes and has 20 minutes set aside for subsequent questions. In intimate courses, it is allowed afterwards to linger for an hour just for the sake of coziness.

CONTEMPORARY ART 1-O-1

ontemporary art is a term for the art that is created in our time (present) by a current generation. What the term covers depends on who you ask. Is it about the brand new art produced in the last 10-15 years? Or is it more relevant to define contemporary art as art produced from 1960 onwards?

From 1960 onwards, artists begin to work with art in an expanded field. That is, the work is not necessarily a painting, drawing, or sculpture. The work can now lie in an idea, an action, a situation, a place or a dialogue with the viewer. Art images are also not necessarily physical objects, but can also arise through words, sounds and scents. Contemporary art thus extends to everything from painting to drawing, graphics and collage to photography to video art to sculpture and much, much more. Through this course, you get to know contemporary art in general. This course can be clearly recommended as a supplement to, or teaching prior to, the courses "Art Investment for Beginners" or "Young Collectors Night".

The course itself takes approx. 60 minutes and has 20 minutes set aside for subsequent questions. In intimate courses, it is allowed afterwards to linger for an hour just for the sake of coziness.

ART - WHAT IT WAS, WHAT IT BECAME AND WHAT IT IS TODAY

The course serves as an entertaining timeline on grossest and funniest show summarizes art wacky and wonderful world.

This lecture is held in conjunction with Kasper Bruun Algreen Vestergaard, Cand. Mag in history, visual arts and visual culture.

Vestergaard reviews the more “classic” art from the marine painters to the corbra artists, after which I take over and review the modern art up to the crazy and chaotic contemporary art we have to thank today. The course is full of humor and good stories and should be seen more as entertainment than a university lecture. Som de Cand. Mag.’er we are, however, we promise to stick 100% to the facts.

The course itself takes approx. 90 minutes, has a 15 minute break midway and 15 minutes are set aside for subsequent questions.

Therefore, expect the entire course to take 2 hours in total.

The double course is only held outside the house - ex. at either your workplace, school, private home or such like.
